ACF 6.0.2

Advanced Custom Fields version 6.0.2 is now available. This release contains a number of important bug fixes for both the ACF and ACF PRO plugins, which we hope you enjoy.

Changelog

• Improvement – Field group and field rows no longer animate on hover to reveal the action links
• Fix – Field order is now saved correctly when fields are reordered
• Fix – WordPress notice styles outside of ACF’s admin screens are no longer affected by the plugin’s CSS

    Indeed I don’t see the pagination for a repeater inside a flexible content field. Seems to only work alone and not nested inside another one which is pointless.

  Can we get some feedback on the overwhelmingly critical response to the new GUI please? There’s an enormous number of developers currently feeling disenchanted by the direction ACF has apparently taken, I among them, with the new backend seemingly designed by someone who has never used ACF. It raises serious concerns about the handling and future of a plugin we have known and loved for over a decade. I can’t speak for everyone, but personally I would like to know that the criticism has been heard, and that the main goals of developers — that is, being able to use the plugin as easily and efficiently as we could before, without having to fight against a hostile GUI — aren’t being shunned in favor of some other intended direction. A misstep is acceptable, as any entity can make mistakes, but this current state of uncertainty is not a comfortable position to be in.

    Hi, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, we appreciate it. We are listening, as you can see from the fixes in 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 We are committed to improving the UX of the plugin, not just in the 6.0 release but fixing issues and improving them in releases going forward. We are looking to improve the plugin for all users and don’t want to make things harder for existing users, and are taking the feedback this under consideration.

    We’ve just shipped ACF 6.0.6 with the ability to disable the tabbed view for field settings. 🙌

  Sorry but has a Developer, the new interface is not user friendly, also the animations when open field is very slow. Whe need a fast interface, with good performance. Not good sorry…

  Really disappoint for this version and prev one, both are not working properly, interface is too poor and always saying acf not defined and missing acf.inout js

  Some fields are not saving again on 6.0.2. Addind new fields, changing it’s order and saving ignores the changes. Can we go back to 5.x please? This change is now messing up production websites

  And those fields that wasn’t saved or appearing in the edit can be seen in the page edit field. Which make it impossible to delete.

  I’m using ACF since 2015 and participate in its development. I feel very confused with ACF 6. Guys, the new user interface is bad. It requires more space and clicks. I appreciate your effort to make refresh the UI, but you forgot about the UX. So for now I decided to stay on 5.12.3 and disable updates. Here’s a small snippet to disable updates notifications: if (function_exists(‘acf_updates’)) { remove_filter(‘pre_set_site_transient_update_plugins’, [acf_updates(), ‘modify_plugins_transient’], 10, 1); }

  Hi Iain / Team, as already stated, I think we all appreciate your work on the plugin since you pot a lot of work and effort on it. At the same time, you should also take note of the community feedback and do something to fix the things you completely messed up, like the new design "slow" and impractical to work with.

  Can we have the old interface back? Maybe just add an option to turn on the new "simplified" version for users who need it. Please? 🙂

  Love the new design work!

  Will design adjustments be made to option pages? So instead of something like this: https://hawpmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/ugly-options-blehhh.png it could be something nice like your new design work, I had to "wordpressify" my options css: https://hawpmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/wordpressy-options-yaaaay.png.

  Would also be nice if we could add options page stylesheets. Currently I have to target the url and enqueue the file that way – in my case strpos($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], 'theme-options')

  Appreciate all you’ve done so far!!
